This Giving Tuesday, We’re Still Caring, Still Here

Our Matching Gift Sponsor, Eisai Pharmaceutical, Will Match Donations Up to $3,000 Total

Dementia changes everything. It reshapes how we remember, how we connect, and how we care. But what never changes is love. Whether you are caring for someone today or honoring someone you have lost, that love endures. It shows up in small everyday moments, in traditions, and in memories that last a lifetime.

In New Jersey, over 272,000 caregivers dedicate themselves to tending to more than 185,300 seniors living with Alzheimer’s disease. Collectively, these caregivers contribute 494 million hours of unpaid care, valued at over $10.8 billion. Behind every number is a story of devotion, strength, and care.

For Act Now Foundation Co-Founders, this mission is deeply personal. Cary cared for her mother through a 14-year battle with Alzheimer’s, and Kristine has witnessed the impact of dementia across generations. Their experiences and the lack of local, accessible support inspired them to create Act Now Foundation. In 2012, they left their successful business to build a nonprofit focused on supporting families affected by Alzheimer’s and related dementias.

Because love does not fade with memory. Every act of care matters.

Our Programs and Impact

Join the #StillCaringStillHere Challenge

This Giving Tuesday, December 2, join us in celebrating the love that continues.

The #StillCaringStillHere Challenge is a way to honor the care you give or have given to someone affected by dementia. Whether your loved one is still with you or has passed, this is your space to share how your care continues through memories, daily acts, or supporting others.

Here is how to join:

  1. Think of a way you are still caring. It could be a daily act, a tradition, or a memory that keeps your loved one close.
  2. Choose a photo that shows your care or memory, such as baking a favorite recipe, tending a garden, or sharing a quiet moment together.
  3. Write a sentence using this template:
I am still caring for [name or relationship] by [what you do or remember].
Example: I am still caring for my mother by planting her favorite flowers each spring.
  4. Post it on Facebook or Instagram with #StillCaringStillHere and tag @ActNowFoundation.
  5. Encourage your friends and family to donate to support families facing dementia this Giving Tuesday.

Our Goal: $3,000 to Keep Families Supported and Seen

This Giving Tuesday, our goal is to raise $3,000 to fund life-changing programs that help families in real ways. These include free cognitive assessments, caregiver support groups, long-term care planning, disease education, and outreach to underserved communities across New Jersey. Every gift helps families find understanding, relief, and hope when they need it most.
